About Us
Our Story
In the heart of the Fraser Valley, British Columbia, the seeds of Sage Learners Society took root in December 2022. Born out of our shared vision we (Jenefer and Travis) founded the not-for-profit Society as a testament to our love for our son, Sage, and our passion for innovative, mindful and experiential community focused learning.
As we journeyed through parenthood, we realized the desire for more tailored
educational options was a shared sentiment in our community.
Recognizing the growing struggles kids faced with social and emotional challenges, we felt compelled to act. Sage Learners Society sprouted from this heartfelt mission, now providing after-school programs that enhance opportunities for learners with diverse needs.

Recognizing the growing struggles kids faced with social and emotional challenges, we felt compelled to act. Sage Learners Society sprouted from this heartfelt mission, now providing after-school programs and homeschooling classes that venture beyond traditional educational confines.
Sage Learners Society stands as a beacon for innovative, real-world learning experiences serving all learners from 6 to 14 years of age. From physical fitness to immersive games and activities fostering social + emotional intelligence, it’s a community where learning, fun, and critical thinking harmoniously intertwine. With each passing day, as Sage and our community of learners grow, we’re reminded that every child, like a seed, holds within them the promise of a majestic tree.

This Instructor is:
I am a Board-Certified Behaviour Consultant (BCBA) with a masters in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). I have been involved in the world of special education since I was a teen and officially began working in the field in 2001. I have a special interest in helping children to develop Social-Emotional (SEL) and Executive Functioning skills.
Recognizing the need for more social opportunities I have been working alongside the team to create and facilitate valuable Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) groups for a variety of learners. Our hope for these programs is to enhance the opportunities available for children who want a fun and relaxing environment to learn how to connect with other children on a deeper level.
In my home life I am busy running around with our toddler, working out, and reading books! I love going on adventures and exploring the world through the eyes of a little person.
As a certified professional coach, mindfulness facilitator, and solopreneur, I’m deeply passionate about guiding kids towards greater self-awareness and a more harmonious connection with their minds, bodies, and environments.
My expertise in coaching, mindfulness, and real-world business experience allows me to integrate a holistic approach into childhood education. I firmly believe in the profound impact of teaching kids techniques to regulate their emotions and manage stress, enabling them to more fully engage with life’s present moments. I am thrilled to foster the entrepreneurial spirit within kids, simultaneously enhancing their social and emotional intelligence through methods that are both age-appropriate and captivating for young learners.
When I’m not working, I relish exploring the great outdoors alongside my wife and our son, Sage. We continually discover fresh ways to bond with nature. Aside from hands-on learning experiences, I advocate that kids reap immense benefits from immersing themselves in natural environments, and I consistently seek innovative opportunities to incorporate nature into our program offerings.

I am a group facilitator and a senior behaviour Interventionist. Working with children has been a passion of mine for many years. I began my career more than 7 years ago but was always heavily involved in my school community by supporting other students and peers with differing needs. All facets of my practice are embedded in Social-Emotional Learning and include physical activity.
By providing a safe and welcoming environment where children are free to explore their strengths through movement and Social Emotional concepts, these groups support the development of emotional regulation and stress management.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking in Palm Springs California, working out at my community gym, and spending quality time with my family and friends. I’m excited to continue my journey as a group facilitator this year.

I am Tristi and I am a group facilitator at Sage Learners. I have been a behaviour interventionist for three years now. I am also a full-time student at Douglas College, doing my Bachelor of Physical Education degree to become a physical education teacher. With my knowledge through school and personal experiences through my sports background, I know how important movement in a safe space allows us to grow emotionally and physically.
I have always wanted to have a career in helping others flourish within themselves. At Sage Learners I can do just that through our social group programs. Seeing the children grow, learn, and develop their physical skills and confidence brings a smile to my face.
When I am not at social group well… I am probably studying or writing an essay. But when I am not doing schoolwork, I am either running or outdoors with my dog. I am also a homebody, but I also love to go out and socialize with friends and family.
